C1930s impressionist-style watercolour beach scene of the historic Mermaid Cafe, Gorran Haven in Cornwall. The accomplished artist, Constance M Cottom, was a professional artist and post card illustrator. She lived near Wimborne near Dorset in England but regularly painted scenes in Cornwall. This vibrant watercolour on paper takes in the famous cafe, harbour, beach and sun bathers.

Inscribed in pencil on reverse: Mermaid Cafe, Gorran Haven, Cornwall, Constance M Cottom. Part of a small collection of her work that I currently own.
